Hi Mrs. D'Ermes,
My name is Deniz Atak. I am a ninth grade student at McLean HS, and I also am a member of the Boy Scout Troop 1130 (based in McLean).
Mr. Patrick, Director of Student Activities, kindly gave me your email address to share the Eagle Scout Service Project proposal I prepared for the school. The project is about addressing several problems on the school grounds as a part of my Eagle Scout Service Project. In summary it will involve;
Addressing the rain water drainage problem by the staircase between the football field, and
Taking measures to minimize erosion on the slopes located on either side of the stair case.

Mr. Patrick, and Principal Mrs. Reilly have already reviewed and approved the proposal. Mr. Patrick also mentioned that PTA would help fund the project materials from the school grounds beautification budget.
I am planning to mobilize the necessary volunteer labor force to implement the project but I will need your input, and PTA funding support for deciding on several material options that will be needed to complete the project.
At this point, my preliminary budget is around $700, but that may change depending on one of the options (please feel free to look at my online budget worksheets - link). I am planning to talk to McLean hardware and Sislers Stone (for gravel/soil) to see if they would donate materials or sell & deliver them at cost.
After your review of the proposal, and the budget, if you like, I will be happy to meet you to answer your questions at your convenience. I am thinking that I can buy the materials and submit the receipts to PTA, after your approval.
