We went to a camp and we built shelters out of sticks and leaves. It took about 2-3 hours to build the shelter. My shelter was pretty big and it was strong. It is very important to think about the area before you place your shelter (in case it rains). Also, you need to get it done before the darkness sets in.
We had 7 cooking groups. One of the groups were all adults so they were working together. I was in Nadim's cooking group. Nadim was the one who cooked. For breakfast, we had Scrambled eggs, turkey bacon and donuts. It was good.
For lunch, we had sandwiches. On my sandwich, I had Mayo, Turkey, Ham, Tomato, and Lettuce. It was very good.
For dinner, we had the choice of having hot dogs or hamburgers. We cook them in foil, and you can put tomatoes, onions, and carrots. I only had one because, I ate a lot for lunch.
For the camp, you have to make a shelter to get part of the Wilderness Survival merit badge. At night, it was very cold. Couple of shelters caved in as scouts were messing around but everyone was OK.
